This is a post that started with a draft of a draft that seemed to make sense at the time but descends to mindless drivel reflecting the lack of the necessary creative juices in this person’s head.
I need a topic for my intro to academic writing class. (Yes, I’m a college senior still taking that class. Me and my irresponsibility go so way back that I’ll have to tell my life story to explain whatever mess I’m in right now.)
I’ve never been too good at the thinking up of topics and getting started with work thing. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if i stop fantasizing about how I’ll come up with a topic nobody’s ever ventured into before, or come from a point of view nobody’s thought of, or any situation in the topic approval process where I am considered an innovative genius.
Since I have such high expectations of myself, I usually fail at thinking of the topic. I’m too proud to get one of the ready-made topics like AIDS, Abortion, Homosexuality, Corruption, and other topics that have been done to death since the 90’s. So I never have output.
Hey Jean Claude, have you ever heard of mastering what’s inside the box before you think outside of it? Ever thought that you just needed to refine your skills before you wow everybody?
